Home Care Partners has been funded by the D.C. Office on Aging to implement a new federal Alzheimer’s Disease “Innovations” grant program that will provide expanded training to home care aides, family caregivers and adult day care staff on therapeutic engagement techniques. A new compassionate touch approach called “Reiki” will also be taught to select staff and caregivers. Reiki has shown great promise in work with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.

Home Care Partners' contract with Arlington County to provide home care services for County residents has been expanded. Home Care Partners is now the only agency providing service under this Arlington contract and is providing service to residents throughout the county.

One of Home Care Partners' outstanding home care aides was featured in the cover story of the Mother's Day 2009 issue of the Washington Post Magazine. The story poignantly highlighted the challenges and the tremendous rewards of this vital job.

Home Care Partners regularly updates programs and processes to ensure the highest quality service and continue our accreditation from the Joint Commission, Home Care Partners' Quality Improvement committee collects key information about our services to help us evaluate and continuously improve.
