The Home Care Aide Certification training program is coordinated by our Manager of Education and Training. Additional training is provided by licensed Social Workers and Registered Nurses with support from our Field Counselors. The program includes a mixture of lecture, discussion, audio-visual and hands-on demonstration in our on-site training lab. Extra help is offered, whenever needed. Two days of supervised “on-the-job” internships in the homes of clients are an essential part of this training. The program culminates with each student’s demonstration before a Registered Nurse of the skills they have learned and a standardized, written exam. Students who successfully master the required skills and pass the exam obtain national certification as Home Care Aides. The training program is very successful with over 90% of our students passing the exam and receiving certification on the first try!
